"Given the Runaround"

I have been trying to return an item previously bought from Staples, now defunct as a retail outlet, not online only.

I have been told that Office Outlet have taken over the retail business. As my nearest outlet is Leicester, I have Googled the address and having been told it was near St George's Retail Park, found it was some 1.3 miles distant. As the item is quite large, I decided to check via the telephone. The phone number given on Office Outlet page brings up a different retail place, so I am told. I am clearly being given the runaround. .
