"£63 DOWN THE DRAIN!!"

Many years ago I had a bad experience when Kwikfit did an oil change on my mini metro...but thats another story.....I vowed at that time NEVER to use them again. so it was with reluctance that I dared to try them again years later.

I Called into Kwik Fit Abbey Lane Leicester last week & explained i was experiencing a 'wobble' on my steering wheel particularly at around 30mph and I would like them to check my tyres. On 'inspection' they told me my tyres were within the legal tread & that the 'wobble' I was experiencing was most likely down to balancing/tracking. I agreed for them to balance/track my wheels/tyres. When this was done there was no improvement.

In desperation I called into my regular garage that normally mot's/service my vehicle - immediately the mechanic identified a 'bulge' in one of my tyres and said this is causing the wobble. He took the car away, got 2 new tyres fitted and BINGO, wobble gone. So Kwikfit, not only did you waste my time, charge me £63 for basically a job that need not have been done, but you also missed out on the opportunity to replace 2 tyres because your tyre fitters cannot have inspected the tyres properly in the first place - as my mechanic said 'Any tyre fitter worth his salt would have spotted the problem immediately' so that's definitely the last time I shall be paying Kwikfit a visit for anything!!
