A review of J Green & Son by Terry B written on Sunday 6th of November 2016
First time i have visited Mr green, he gave a very warm welcome and had a good range of antiques but i really can not say that i trust his word. I was looking to exchange some of my bulkier items Le Rochelle bedside table, and a few other large items i had with me. There was a price difference between the them, around £4000 that i needed to pay,but Mr green would only accept cash in hand and was unable to produce any receipts as his printer was not working. I asked if he could produce a hand written receipt as an alternative but he refused and implied that he would sent it out in the post. I may be a little cautious but i just didn't trust this and walked away.
I received a call from Mr green later that day, he told me he had spoken to the bank and he could continue with the transaction but only if i deposited half of the outstanding balance into his back account, which just seemed very bad practise.
