"Poor customer service & no refund returns policy"

I wanted to teach my three year old that Christmas is about giving as well as recieving. We emptied out her moneybox and she spent her 13 pence on a soft toy for her sister (which I topped up with my card) and I insisted we buy a bag for her to carry it home as 'her gift'. An hour later she changed her mind about it. The shop assistant was rude and cross that we wanted a refund. She pointed out there was a very small sign on the left wall amid hundreds of things for sale stating this. She said she would not be 'guilted' into refunding money by my child and she 'bends over backwards to help people in the shop'. I insisted she rang her boss and she did not hand over all the information to him so did not issue a refund.

My daughter as witness to these events cried all the way home (we live 30 minutes away), Even when mummy kept saying she would refill her money box anyway.

Thank you art of cards for teaching my three year old that Christmas not about Good Will, it is about profits. Thank you for teachng her that no rule can be bent (even an hour after purchase) - especially for small children (who are worthless when they have little purchasing power anyway), and that the customer is never right (especially at this Christmas time of Good Will).

The poor customer service and exceptionally poor manner and lack of compassion in which this was dealt with will ensure none of my family and friends ever buy from here in the future. .
