A review of Humberstone Park Cafe by Anonymous written on Sunday 5th of July 2015
We used to visit our Grandparents on the Uppingham Road and came to Humberstone Park as children in the 60s.
The café was just an ice cream parlour in summer and closed in winter.
I love these traditional park cafes, sharing a coffee under swaying trees, and surrounded by lovely plants. Also the brickwork and chimneys of the old building speak of a bygone age when living was at a slower pace.
The staff were great. They know how to make interesting conversation which is quite rare down south!
The food was very good and so reasonably priced.
This café is an 'oasis of calm' away from the hustle, bustle and noise of
modern city life.
