The merry monarch was my local over 30years ago,I recently called in to try and see if by any chance there was anyone I knew,like mick perrit or Joe snape and the Websters who actually owned the pub at the time many more I played cricket & football with,however I did try the food and the beer again and must admit it was as I left the 1st time lovely,I had the steak fillet and it was superbly cooked and delivered,well done YOU.....may be back in another 30yrs lol-.........
