A review of South Lodge by David Oxley written on Tuesday 16th of February 2010
I was at South Lodge at the same time as Victor, and I am in total agreement with all he says.they were happy times but did little to help my career,I loved science but we had no science teachers,so what was a passion just stayed a hobby. Worse than this, the way South Lodge wrapped its pupils up in cotton wool it took me many years to establish relationships. It gave me an inferiority complex wich took over 40 years to overcome.
Victor was about 1 year my senior, I remember well he was mad about the moon and his self built telescopes.
Me I did everything I could to go oposit anthing S.L.said at 20 I raced copatitively on a cycle now I have a workshop I'm proud of and love making model loccomotives. I'm sure that's because we were not considered safe doing such things.
